Hello and welcome to the new edition of EG Perspectives, where we unpack the rise of AI-powered tools, explore the different types of intelligence behind them, and spotlight the technology that's laying the groundwork for a smarter, faster, and more connected world.

Why the Smartest Tech still needs the Smartest People
Let’s face it, AI is everywhere. It’s in our inboxes, our meetings, even our morning rituals. It’s the buzzword of the moment, and every organisation is trying to figure out what it means for their people, their processes, and their future. Some are excited, some are overwhelmed, but most are somewhere in between.
At Elite Group, we’re not just watching the AI wave roll in; we’re riding it, and we’ve made it our mission to embed intelligence into every layer of our solutions. From customer engagement to operational efficiency, we’re helping businesses automate the mundane, surface the meaningful, and collaborate with more clarity.
Of course, we’re not doing it alone. At Elite Group, we’re proud to work with forward-thinking partners like Zoom, whose Agentic AI acts as a proactive teammate; AI Meeting Assist, the intelligent note-taker; and Jola, whose IoT and Machine-to-Machine eSIM solutions are driving innovation across industries worldwide.

But let’s not get carried away. AI is powerful, yes. It’s a paradigm shift as transformative as the internet, mobile, or cloud. It’s changing how we communicate, how we sell, and how we serve. In other words, it’s not just a new tool, it’s a new way of working.
But it’s not a silver bullet. AI is rewriting the rules, but it can’t replace what makes us human. We’re proud to be a forward-thinking organisation. But we’re even prouder of the way we think about our staff.
That’s why, at Elite Group, we keep people at the centre of everything we do. Our technology is designed to empower - not replace.
We build solutions that support real conversations, real relationships, and real outcomes. And that’s the kind of future we’re building, powered by tech, defined by people!

Meet the teammate
you didn't know you needed
Earlier in the year, Elite Group partnered with Zoom to bring its latest intelligent collaboration tools directly to our customers. And this couldn’t have come at a more pivotal time, with 78% of organisations already using AI in at least one business function and the global AI market now worth over £391 billion.
As AI becomes a trusted part of everyday operations, the question is no longer “should we use it?” but “how do we use it well?”

We all know that teammate who’s on time, never forgets a detail, and always meets every deadline. Now scale those qualities and deploy them 24/7, and you’ve just met Zoom’s Agentic AI: the smartest teammate you didn’t know you needed.
Built to make work smarter, not harder! Zoom’s Agentic AI helps teams stay aligned, informed, and focused. Whether that’s onboarding new clients, hosting internal team catch-ups, or managing complex cross-department projects, it keeps operations one step ahead.
The innovation doesn’t stop there either. Zoom is setting the trend with tools that feel less like software and more like an intuitive personal assistant who pre-empts your needs - exactly what’s needed when 86% of UK consumers engaged with an AI-powered service last month.
But here’s the part that surprises most people: Zoom’s Agentic AI is included FREE with paid Zoom subscriptions. No extra licensing. No hidden fees. Just powerful, always-on intelligence.
So, whether you're exploring AI tools that help your organisation move faster, stay aligned, and lead with confidence, or you're already using Zoom, reach out to your Elite account manager to see Zoom’s Agentic AI in action.

The quiet revolution that's making big noises
Before AI stole the spotlight, the big story was the Internet of Things - how automation and connected devices would reshape our lives.
So, what happened while the world was distracted by artificial intelligence? Quite a lot, actually.
IoT and Machine to Machine (M2M) projects have been quietly gathering momentum in the background, powering everything from smart infrastructure to predictive maintenance. The market has grown rapidly over the past decade and is now projected to reach £17.8 billion by the end of 2025, with over 50 billion connected devices expected globally.
In manufacturing alone, 67% of UK firms now use IoT to monitor equipment and reduce downtime. Healthcare: over half of NHS trusts have adopted remote monitoring via IoT wearable devices. And in agritech, 58% of UK agricultural businesses rely on IoT for soil monitoring, livestock tracking, and automated irrigation.

Today, Elite customers now have direct access to these technologies, thanks to our strategic partnership with Jola.
From smart meters and AI-enabled safety cameras to pop-up retail and self-driving vehicle trials, Jola’s mobile data solutions are powering the next wave of IoT and M2M innovation.
With multi-network SIMs and the latest eSIM technology, businesses across energy, construction, transport, retail, and more are connecting equipment, automating reporting, and feeding real-time data into live dashboards and decision engines with no need for fixed broadband lines or lengthy delays.
In fact, one transport provider recently upgraded its fleet with multi-network SIMs that switch seamlessly between carriers.
The result?
- Real-time tracking across previously blackspot-heavy routes
- Consistent connectivity for onboard sensors and diagnostics
- Automated data flows that feed directly into AI-powered dashboards
“At Jola, we work closely with our partners to understand their customers' operational pressure points and deliver tailored solutions that fit.
Our partnership with Elite Group ensures those solutions are not only unique, but reliable, easy to provision, and fully supported, 24/7” says Tom Kerr, Jola Sales Manager.
If IoT and M2M play a role in your business, Elite can help you scale it, simplify it, and make it work harder.

Why PSTN’s retirement is
your business’s wake-up call
If you remember the UK’s analogue TV switchover between 2007 and 2012, you’ll understand the scale of this transition. It was a once-in-a-generation infrastructure upgrade with wide reaching effects and a fixed deadline that didn’t budge.
Almost a decade on, and the UK is preparing for a comparable shift within its telephone network: the PSTN switch-off.
First announced by Openreach in 2017, the phased retirement of the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) was originally scheduled for completion in December 2025 but has now been extended to January 2027. While that deadline might seem distant, it is now just over 12 months away.
Businesses relying on legacy services such as analogue phone lines, payment terminals, telecare systems or alarm monitoring need to act early.
Procuring and migrating to All-IP solutions takes time, and delaying could lead to service disruption, compliance risks or missed savings.
What is PSTN?
PSTN is the analogue network built on copper wiring that has underpinned UK landlines for decades. It connects traditional phone calls and supports older broadband services like ADSL, FTTC, and even legacy digital services such as ISDN. It also underpins a surprising number of business-critical systems from lift alarms to the card machine you tap at the till.
Right now, many of these services still rely on copper lines carrying PSTN or ISDN traffic. But once the switch-off takes place, those lines will go dark.
While some systems may still function physically, their underlying PSTN, ISDN, or older broadband connections will no longer work unless they’ve been upgraded to modern digital alternatives.
So whether you’re already preparing for the PSTN switch-off, or this is the first time you’ve heard of it, one thing’s clear: you can’t afford to ignore it.
But there’s still time to act and futureproof your business before the lights go out.
The Evolution of Artificial Intelligence
AI is so woven into our daily routines, we barely notice it. From inbox filters to voice assistants, it quietly handles the repetitive tasks we’d rather skip, saving time and resources at home and at work. This quick explainer breaks down how AI has evolved, and where it’s heading next.

Reactive AI
Thinks in the moment, no memory
Examples:
| Spam filters | |
| Basic chatbots | |
| Chess-playing programs |

Limited Memory AI
Learns from past data to improve future outcomes
Examples:
| Copilot | |
| Zoom AI companion | |
| Self-driving vehicles | |
| Voice assistants (Siri, Alexa) |
|
| Recommendation engines (Netflix, YouTube, Spotify) |

Theory of Mind AI
Still in development, but it already understands emotions, intentions and social cues
Examples:
| Experimental social robots | |
| Emotion-aware virtual tutors | |
| AI companions for use in research labs |

Self-aware AI
Purely hypothetical at present, but it would know it exists and can reflect on its own thoughts
Examples:
| No real-life examples, but imagined in films like Ex Machina and Her |

In every business, conversations
drive progress, whether it’s a sales call, a project update or a customer check-in.
But the way we manage those conversations is changing fast. Video conferencing has become the default, not the exception, with over 350 million daily users now relying on platforms like Zoom, Teams and Google Meet to connect across teams, time zones, and continents.
Therefore, the evolution of AI-powered meeting companions feels inevitable, reflecting a broader shift in how modern teams communicate.
It’s about removing the friction that stops them from doing their best work. When the admin disappears, the decisions get sharper. The handovers get cleaner. The week moves faster.
Enter AI Meeting Assistant powered by Leexi, which joins your calls automatically, transcribes in over 100 languages, identifies key moments, and delivers tailored summaries, action points and follow-up emails straight to your inbox.
The assistance doesn't stop there either. AI Meeting Assistant integrates seamlessly with Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, Salesforce, HubSpot and more, so the impact is measurable.
And users save between 4 to 10 hours per month by automating note-taking, report writing, and meeting summaries. While onboarding time drops by 50 percent. Sales performance can rise by up to 30 percent.

Whether you're a busy executive, a project manager, or part of a sales team, Ai Meeting Assistant offers automated notetaking and comprehensive meeting summaries that allow you to focus on the conversation without the distraction of manual notetaking. It helps you reclaim all those hours.
